Many people have trouble understanding their dental insurance plans, and the fact that benefits can vary depending on which provider you have certainly doesn’t help at all. Our team is here to answer your insurance questions and help you find the best way to navigate the process and maximize your savings.
All PPO plans are welcome at our Channahon dental office. We have no problem filing claims for out-of-network providers, but you’ll typically save more money if you have an in-network plan. You can call us to see if we’re in-network with your insurance carrier if you don’t see their name on the list below.
Dental insurance is different from regular medical insurance in that it encourages a more preventive approach. Many plans will fully cover checkups and cleanings that allow your dentist to identify and treat small oral health problems early, thus saving money that would otherwise be spent on something more complex.
The most common coverage structure for dental insurance is 100-80-50. This means that preventive care like checkups is 100% covered. Basic services like fillings fall under 80% coverage while tooth extractions and other serious treatments are around 50% coverage. Exact coverage rates are likely to vary by dental plan, so be sure to double-check.
If you do not have dental insurance, we offer the Grand Advantage Plan. This annual plan requires enrollment and costs only $259 a year. This is not an insurance plan and offers the quality dental care you and your family need at reduced costs.
