Get to Know Dr. Kaiyun "Kevin" Chen
Dr. Chen has been creating beautiful smiles for more than 2 decades, and we are proud to have him providing orthodontic treatment to our patients in Lockport. He is passionate about providing orthodontic care because improving a patient’s smile can fundamentally change their lives for the better. He enjoys working with each patient to help them achieve their individual goals.
Why Did Dr. Chen
Become a Dentist?
Dr. Chen was drawn to dentistry because he saw it would give him the unique opportunity to enhance people’s lives by improving their health and appearance at the same time. He also enjoys working with his hands every day. When it came time to choose his career, dentistry seemed like the obvious choice.
Where Did He Study Dentistry?
Dr. Chen began his college career in his native China, graduating from the West China University of Medical Sciences before immigrating to the U.S. and earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In addition to general dentistry, he completed a five-year residency training in orthodontics. Today, he is an active member of several professional organizations, including the:

- Illinois State Dental Society
- Academy of General Dentistry
- American Academy of Implant Dentistry
Outside of the Office,
What Does Dr. Chen Like to Do?
Dr. Chen and his wife, Joy, are busy parents of two sons, Ben and Jason. They enjoy spending family time hiking, fishing or simply reading a good book.
